The debut album of Aaliyah Age Ain't Nothin but a Number came out in 1994. When she was just 15 the album was awarded Gold recognition. It was done as a collaboration that was highly inspired by R. Kelly and it placed her in the spotlight. In 1996, she collaborated alongside Jermaine Dupri and Timbaland to record her follow-up album One In A Million which contained the number-one hit single If Your Girl Could Only Know. The second album of Aaliyah entitled One in a Million was released in 1996. It included the first hit single If Your Girl Only Knew. The year 2000 saw her co-starred with the martial arts icon Jet Li as Jet Li in Romeo Must Die. Joel Silver, a film producer who was at an award ceremony when she got the role and spotted her. In 2002 she had the opportunity to play the vampire flick Queen of the Damned which was an adaptation of The Anne Rice novel. The Matrix Sequels followed, featuring Zee as the lead character. However, she is also known as Aarti Magumdar for her stage name. She started her acting career as a minor actor in TV and film roles, but her popularity was growing in the late 2000s. Apart from The Big Bang Theory her other notable works are Leverage (2012) Suits (2013) as well as Grey's Anatomy (2017). She has also been featured in commercials for big companies like the international auto manufacturer Volvo. Her daughter is a resident of Los Angeles and is pursuing her acting.
