Winona Ryder - Winona Lauro Horowitz - was born in Winona Minnesota. The parents named her Winona for her hometown. His father Michel Horowitz and her mother Cynthia Palmer were authors and editors. Ryder, who considers herself Jewish and descends from Ryder's Jewish father. Her half-siblings are younger, Jubal and Sunyata.
