Winona-Ryder

Winona Ryder - Winona Lauro Horowitz - was born in Winona Minnesota. The parents named her Winona for her hometown. His father Michel Horowitz and her mother Cynthia Palmer were authors and editors. Ryder, who considers herself Jewish and descends from Ryder's Jewish father. Her half-siblings are younger, Jubal and Sunyata. Ryder's parents moved her and her siblings to Mendocino County California when Ryder turned seven. They didn't have electricity. Ryder would read extensively due to the absence of television. In 1983 when she was twelve, Ryder was accepted into the American Conservatory Theatre to take acting classes. In the year she turned 15years old, Ryder was offered her very first role on screen, in Lucas. Ryder was bullied in high school. She hoped that the acting profession would alter this. However, it didn't come be. But she pushed on with her dream. Ryder made her breakthrough through Tim Burton's Beetlejuice in 1988. Ryder played successful roles for several films. In 1993 Ryder was twice nominated to win Academy Awards. One of them for her role In The Age of Innocence.
